Online courses require additional costs for tools and supplies, but we’ll always provide clear pricing upfront. Tuition does not include housing, meals or transportation.
Is Tuition Different for Online and In-Person Courses?
Tuition at CIOMIT varies depending on whether you’re taking online or in-person classes. We offer both, giving you the freedom to select the path that best fits your goals and your schedule. Whether you choose online or in-person training, you’ll receive top-notch instruction.
What Are the Tuition Rates?
Tuition rates vary based on the courses you select. Factors like the course length, tool kit needs, and type of course (online, power course, or in-person) all influence the cost. Here are ranges to give you an idea:
- In Person Full Time: $2100/month for 5 months = $10,500 (per discipline)
- In Person Part Time: $1050/month for 10 months = $10,500 (per discipline)
- 5 Day Power Course: $2100 total
- Online Courses: $2100 per course + Tool Kits ($1500-$4500* per course)
*If you already do instrument repair or have taken other courses, you may already have some of the tools required for the kit. We work with you to send only what you need and this can lower the tool cost significantly. For a personalized estimate contact us directly.
Do I Need to Purchase Tools?
Online students need a tool kit to complete their training. In person students use our tools while they learn and have the option of purchasing a tool kit at the end of their courses. Instrument repair requires specialized tools, and having the right equipment is essential for success. These kits contain high-quality tools that will serve you well beyond your training. While tool kits are a separate cost from tuition, we strive to make them as affordable as possible. Our goal is to equip you with everything needed to succeed in this field.
What Additional Costs Should I Expect?
In addition to your tuition, there will be an enrollment fee for all students–$45/on campus, $25/online. This fee covers on campus background checks and enrollment processing. There will also be a one-time materials fee of $150 for all on-campus students. If you’re attending in-person classes and relocating, other costs to consider are housing, meals, and transportation while you are learning.

Is Tuition Refundable?
Life happens, and we understand that sometimes plans change. If an on campus class is cancelled by the student prior to the start of any class, tuition (less a $150.00 fee) will be refunded. If class has started, tuition refund is pro-rated according to the untaught lessons. Once tuition is paid for an online course, the videos and materials are unlocked for a year. There is no refund for these courses due to the extended time to use the materials. If you need an extension of time, please contact us to make arrangements. Finally, if CIOMIT has to cancel any course, tuition is refunded.
